When mounting rail spike coat racks to the wall, remove the spike hooks to reveal a 3/4” hole with a washer countersunk into the wood to hide your mounting screws. Simply reattach the hooks after you fasten the wood in place. When fastening to drywall, be sure to use the best drywall inserts you can get to ensure a solid and lasting installation.
